Something from the cellar.

John Lamb (Dad) visited us in The Savoie last week. To mark the occasion I pulled this out of the cellar.

To be honest I’d been dying for an excuse to pull the cork.

I didn’t try to get creative, and went for a classic food match.

The Rieussec 99 didn’t disappoint, with all the rich and powerful complexity you’d expect from this great house.

My only regret is that there isn’t more in the cellar. Of course when your local supermarket carries such gems (one of the benefits of living near some of Europe’s best skiing), it is only a matter of waiting for the sales to roll around.
