Having studied oenology at Beaune, Alexandre Monmousseau took over the 15 hectares of vineyards of the family’s 17th century Château Gaudrelle in 1984 and has since created a fine reputation for uncompromising quality of his still and sparkling Vouvrays. His classic is the sec-tendre style with just enough residual sugar to balance the inherent acidity of Chenin Blanc.
